Why this site exists
Most people encounter financial information at the worst possible moment: when something has already happened. A parent dies, a company is sold, a job offer arrives with an equity component nobody explains, a retirement date suddenly becomes real. At that point the reader is trying to learn an unfamiliar subject and make a consequential decision at the same time, usually while being marketed to.
Scof Iabarrk was built to be the thing you read before that moment. Our guides assume no prior knowledge, define terms as they introduce them, and describe the trade-offs on both sides of a decision rather than steering toward one. When a topic genuinely requires a licensed professional — and many do — we say so plainly instead of pretending an article can substitute for advice.
What we publish
The library is deliberately narrow and deep rather than broad and thin. Rather than chasing news cycles, we maintain a fixed set of reference guides covering the durable concepts in wealth management: what the discipline covers, how professional planning works, the mechanics of investing, asset allocation, retirement, tax awareness, estate structures, risk transfer, and how to evaluate an advisor. Alongside those sits an A–Z glossary and a frequently asked questions section built from what readers actually write in and ask.
Each guide carries a publication date and a last-reviewed date. When rules, thresholds or terminology change, we revise the guide and update the date rather than leaving stale material in place with a fresh timestamp.
What we deliberately do not do
- We do not give advice. Scof Iabarrk is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, insurance producer, certified public accountancy practice or law firm, and we do not hold ourselves out as any of them. Nothing we publish is tailored to an individual reader.
- We do not sell financial products. No funds, no accounts, no policies, no subscriptions, no courses, no "premium tier".
- We do not take referral fees. We receive no commission, revenue share, finder's fee or introduction payment from advisors, custodians, insurers, platforms or fund providers.
- We do not publish forecasts. You will not find price targets, market predictions, projected returns or hypothetical growth illustrations presented as expectations.
- We do not collect financial data. There is no account to open, no portfolio to link, no risk questionnaire that harvests your details.
How the site is funded
Scof Iabarrk is free to read and supported entirely by advertising shown alongside our content. That is the whole business model, and we state it openly because the way a publisher earns money is the single most useful thing a reader can know about it.
Advertising is kept structurally separate from editorial. Advertisers do not see content before publication, cannot commission or approve guides, cannot request changes, and cannot have material removed. The presence of an advertisement next to an article is not an endorsement by Scof Iabarrk of that advertiser or anything they claim. Our full advertising disclosure sets this out in detail, and the privacy policy explains what data ad delivery involves.
Who writes it
Guides are researched and written by the Scof Iabarrk editorial team and reviewed internally before publication. We work from primary public sources wherever a factual claim is involved — regulator and government publications, tax authority guidance, and the published standards of professional bodies — rather than from secondary commentary that may itself be promotional.
Our team members do not hold themselves out as your adviser, and we do not attach individual professional credentials to articles in a way that might imply a personal advisory relationship with the reader. The editorial policy describes the research, review and correction process in full.
Corrections and accountability
We will get things wrong occasionally; every publisher does. What matters is what happens next. If you find an error — a mis-stated rule, a broken definition, an outdated figure, a link that now points somewhere it should not — write to info@scofiabarrk.com. Substantive corrections are made to the page and noted, and we aim to acknowledge reports within five business days.
